Billing and Statements

How does King Energy OneBill work?

King Energy OneBill™ is a consolidated billing program available in California. It combines any residual utility charges and your King Energy solar energy charges into a single, easy-to-read monthly statement, eliminating the need to manage two separate bills.

Why is my statement amount different from last month?

Your monthly statement reflects actual solar energy delivered to your space. Amounts can vary based on seasonal solar production or changes in your energy usage. Your per-unit rate remains locked in and you are always paying less than standard utility pricing for all solar energy delivered.

How do I read my King Energy statement?

Your statement includes your service address, billing period, total energy delivered in kWh, your discounted rate per kWh, and the total amount due. You can check out our detailed annotated guide to your statement to learn more.

How will I pay my electricity bills?

You’ll receive a single statement for the electricity usage at your business. Using our OneBill™ platform, we merge your utility and solar energy charges and send you a single, consolidated bill. You’ll make one payment, and we’ll handle paying the utility. You’ll be able to easily see your discounts from the solar program and view past solar and utility statements stored in the system.

Can I continue to pay my utility bill separately instead of using OneBill?

Yes, you are welcome to manage your utility bill separately. The drawback is that your utility bill may be more complex and can include rebilled amounts when periodic changes are made to the solar distribution plan at your property. The consolidated OneBill statement is designed to give you a cleaner, more consistent view of your total energy costs and savings each month.

Enrollment and Getting Started

How do I enroll in the King Energy program?
Enrollment starts by submitting a copy of your most recent electric bill so we can review your energy usage and confirm your program details. Visit our Getting Started page for step-by-step instructions and the secure link to get started.
What are the steps to participate?

Enrolling is simple and only requires some necessary details about your current utility account and energy needs. Once collected, we will provide an energy service agreement to complete the enrollment process.

What do I need to enroll?

You will need a recent copy of your electric bill. This allows King Energy to review your historical energy usage and confirm how much solar energy can be allocated to your account each month. The process is secure and takes just a few minutes.

How long does enrollment take?

The online enrollment process takes just a few minutes. After submitting your information, our team will review and confirm your program details, typically within a few business days.

Is there a cost to enroll?

No. Enrollment is completely free. There are no upfront costs, equipment fees, or long-term obligations. You simply start receiving clean solar energy at your discounted rate once the program is active at your location.

When does my service begin?

The start of service depends on a number of factors and can vary by location. The design and construction phases may take several months, and we’ll also need to coordinate with the utility on interconnection. Once the solar system is physically installed and contracts are complete, we’ll be ready to provide discounted solar energy to enrolled tenants.

What happens after I enroll?

After enrollment is confirmed, you will begin receiving solar energy at your reduced rate. It may take a few months for your utility provider to complete their solar billing setup. Once the utility applies the building’s solar credits, you will see the savings reflected, and any applicable back-billing will be applied. Our team will notify you when this happens and explain any adjustments on your statement.

About the Program

What is King Energy?

King Energy is one of the largest commercial solar operators in the United States. We partner with commercial property owners to install and manage rooftop solar systems, then deliver that clean energy to on-site businesses at a reduced rate, with no cost to you or your property owner.

How does this benefit my business?

You receive clean, renewable solar energy at a rate 10% below standard utility pricing. This means real monthly savings, a reduced carbon footprint for your business, and the confidence of being part of a nationally recognized clean energy network. There is no equipment to manage, no installation on your part, and no disruption to your operations.

How much can my business expect to save?

You will always pay 10% less for the solar energy than what the local utility would have charged, although your savings are dependent on the amount of solar power generated by the panels and used by your business. For example, if you use 50,000 kWh of solar energy this year, which usually costs $10,000, you’ll save $1,000.

How much does it cost to participate?

There is no out-of-pocket expense for tenants to participate in the solar program and receive energy discounts. King Energy covers all installation and maintenance costs. Once the system is installed, tenants simply pay for the solar power usage at the reduced rate.

Will there be any changes or disruptions to my electricity?

No, you should have no disruptions to electricity after you switch to solar. Your business will still be connected to the utility, so you’ll always have energy even when the solar panels aren’t generating power because of weather or time of day.

Will I be liable for repairs to the system?

No, you will never have to pay for repairs to the solar system. We manage the solar program and pay for all of its maintenance and operation costs, including repairs and cleaning.

Is there a fee or penalty for cancellation?

No, you can cancel the agreement for any reason without penalty. The agreement ends at the same time as your lease, so leaving the property and exiting your lease will also end the agreement with King Energy.
